Ducati's first run of 1500 Desmosedici MotoGP replicas has sold out, despite the $95,000-plus price tag.
Perhaps one of the most-anticipated exotic bikes in the last decade, the machine had its hand-built run extended once the factory worked out that demand was higher than expected -- despite the stratospheric price tag and the four-year delay.
Claiming somewhere in the region of 200 horses, the machine is the closest thing we've so far seen to a genuine MotoGP replica and might eventually lead to a less exotic version as a production bike.
However Ducati has made no promises of broader production and may be tempted to stick with releasing the occasional hand-built special.
