Ducati Australia has announced pricing for its new 1199 Panigale ABS, with the base model set to retail for $26,990 when it goes on sale in April, 2012. That’s the same price as the current 1198, and the parity also holds for the premium spec Panigale S ABS, which will retail for $33,990 – equal to the 1198S.
The flagship Panigale S Tricolore ABS will sell for $39,990, complete with a revised version of the Ducati Data Analyser system using GPS, electronic suspension, an eight-level traction control system, quickshifter, electronic engine braking control, three-way switchable engine modes as well as a thin film transistor full-colour instrument panel.
The Panigale S and Panigale S Tricolore boast the very latest suspension package from Öhlins in the form of electronically controlled suspension -- the first time it has been seen on a production sports bike.
“Naturally we’re very excited to be able to offer our customers the all-new 1199 Panigale at the same price structure as the current 1198,” said Warren Lee, the CEO of Ducati Australia. “Then when it comes to power, weight and technology, the key benchmarks for any sports bike, the Panigale sets completely new and extreme benchmarks with… cutting-edge electronic performance, comfort and safety.”
The Panigale was awarded the title of ‘Most Beautiful Bike of Show’ at the recent EICMA show in Milan. Over 13,800 visitors cast their vote, with the machine attracting 53.4 per cent of votes.
