Draggin Jeans receive full CE approval

After five years of intensive R & D, it's the first motorcycle jean in the world to reach such a standard

Draggin Jeans has produced the first motorcycle jean in the world to receive full CE approval - tests applied by scientific laboratories that strictly impose minimum safety requirements for various pieces of protective motorcycle clothing.

The CE tests, also known as European standards, are independent, standardised, and repeatable. They are applied to ensure those products claiming to provide protection do just that.  To gain CE approval means that a product has successfully satisfied all of those imposed standards.

The body ultimately responsible for granting CE approval is the SATRA Technology Centre in Northamptonshire. Draggin Jeans has been sending its products to the labs for almost five years with the goal of improving safety and obtaining CE approval.

CE stands for Conformité Européenne, "European conformity" in French.

The level of approval achieved by Draggin Jeans has previously been reached by only a handful of motorcycle garments, and never has it previously been granted to a street fashion jean.

"This is a fantastic result that we were confident we would receive," said Grant Mackintosh, the CEO and founder of Draggin Jeans. "Whilst some of the biggest names in leather and synthetic motorcycle clothing have given up trying to gain the same approval, we have maintained absolute faith in our product and its amazing safety features.

"We have always had the safest lining in the market however the requirements for CE approval are very strict so we are elated.

"Whether a rider purchases our entry-level classic jean or the fully CE approved jean, they will find the same protective lining in all of the crash points."

The CE jean is now in production and be available through Draggin stockists by the end of May.

The official product name is C-Evo, and sizes will range from 28-44 for me and 6-18 for women. Price is $399.
