There is no doubt Englishman Dougie Lampkin is a motorcycle racing genius , as you don't win eight moto trials world titles (seven outdoor and one indoor) on a whim.
Having just signed with Italian manufacturer Beta, Lampkin is now turning his talents to enduro racing, using the manufacturer's RR450 to finish fourth in last weekend's extreme event in England.
Lampkin held his own against some of the best in the business, including former world enduro champions Paul Edmondson and David Knight.
This weekend he'll continue to indulge in his new passion as a wildcard in a round of the Indoor Enduro World Cup in Italy - while his regular moto trials compatriots compete in their own indoor title in France.
Indoor enduro races are traditionally tight and technical, Lampkin's bread and butter, so he just may take a few big scalps along the way.
His opposition will include enduro big guns such as Simone Albergoni, Mike Ahola, Samuli Aro, Ivan Cervantes and Tady Blazusiak, who won last week's extreme event in England.
Lampkin will resume normal racing service when the Trials World Championship starts in Ireland on April 4-5.
