Australian motorcycle racing stars Troy Bayliss, Jason Crump and Karl Muggeridge will take on the Gold Coast's best dirt track racers this weekend (November 15-16) at the Mike Hatcher Junior Motorcycle Club (MHJMCC).
The inaugural Legends v Hatcher's Heroes spectacular will coincide with the ninth and final round of the 2014 MHJMCC championship, in which a number of club titles will be decided on the day.
The event follows a previous appearance by the decorated international racing trio, which has won a total of seven world championships, at the Gold Coast's only flat track for the Legends teams’ event in June.
On that occasion the trophy was claimed by 2004 world supersport champion Muggeridge and his team of local juniors, but Bayliss (pictured) remains the hot favourite for this Saturday after lapping up a storm at the Gold Coast venue -- his local flat track – in preparation for the international Superprestigio Dirt Track invitational in Spain on December 13.
The three-time world superbike champ and Grand Prix winner, who is also the reigning Australian dirt track and supermoto champion, will use the Gold Coast event as a warm-up for his hotly anticipated meeting on the 200-metre clay oval track in Barcelona with some of the world's best riders, including world MotoGP champ Marc Marquez.
Legends v Hatcher's events will commence after the completion of the club championship this Saturday afternoon, and all three legends will be available to sign caps, shirts and posters.
Entry is free, full canteen and bar services will be on hand and racing starts at 10:00am at Mike Hatcher Raceway, located at 10 Captain Cook Drive, Arundel.
