French MotoGP rider Randy DePuniet will be doing the rounds in Sydney tomorrow, helping to launch the latest range of helmets from his personal sponsor, Shark.
DePuniet, who was 10th in yesterday’s MotoGP race at Phillip Island, will appear at the following bike stores, eager to sign as many autographs as possible:
Now to the real matter at hand. The Race-R Pro and Race-R are to replace the RSR2 helmets at the top of Shark range. The high-end Race-R Pro is made from carbon and aramid fibres and has been developed for the company’s top level racers in events like MotoGP and world superbike.
The Race-R is derived from the Race-R Pro, with the main difference between the two lids is that the Race-R Pro has a double blade spoiler to help with aerodynamics when at high speeds.
Also new to the range is the Vision-R, which Shark claims offers the greatest panoramic visor aperture available on the market. Compared with common visor apertures the Vision-R has 25 percent more global vertical vision and 10 percent more horizontal vision.
The Vision-R also has the patented 'Rapid Anti Fog system' which holds the visor ajar to avoid misting and is easily usable with gloves.
All three helmets were recently launched at the Cologne motorcycle show, and should be available in Australia by the end of the year.
Shark is distributed in Australia by Ficeda Accessories, tel 02 9757 0061.
