New FIM World Supercross Championship to be run by Australian promoters
Organised by experienced promoter and sports marketing agency, AME Group, the 2022 FOX Australian Supercross Championship sees the long-awaited return of the series following a two-year, pandemic-induced hiatus.
The series will kick off the night before the Australian round of the 2022 FIM World Supercross Championship at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, in what will be an action-packed double-header to announce the return of top supercross competition to our shores in fine style.
It will also see the return of the domestic supercross championship to Newcastle in more than a decade, with the AUSX Triple Crown marquee event to be held at the city’s McDonald Jones Stadium.

Organisers say the Newcastle event could potentially extend into 2023 and 2023.
“The chosen rounds and venues all contribute a great deal to our vision of supercross in Australia, as we look towards building a strong, consistent championship for now and into the future,” said AME Group’s General Manager of Events & Commercial, Ben Williams.
“We appreciate the support of each venue and promoter, who are all committed to delivering events of exceptional quality in 2022 and the future.”
Mr Williams also highlighted the synergy of pairing the domestic series with the international championship.
“We’re thrilled to align with the World Supercross Championship round in Melbourne,” he said.
“The reach of their network spans the globe, which benefits our series and athletes massively as they establish themselves on the world stage.”
