Daryl Beattie, an adventure tour operator and former motorcycle GP star, is using the current pandemic as an opportunity to educate Australians about adventure motorcycling via a series of free Zoom classes.
With the help of several sponsors and acquaintances, Beattie will use the Zoom discussions to give tips and advice to beginners or those contemplating motorcycle travel, as well as experienced riders looking to enhance their knowledge.

The virtual classes will cover everything from preparation and navigation, to first aid and weather. Beattie has also invited a number of special guests to share their wisdom and experiences.
As the owner and operator of the popular Daryl Beattie Adventures, the former motorcycle GP winner knows a thing or two about motorcycle travel in Australia. Daryl Beattie Adventures takes punters on fully-catered, multi-day tours in variety of stunning locations.
Some of Beattie’s popular tours include the Canning Stock Route, Cape York, Simpson Desert, and the Finke Desert Race Tour. Beattie has a fleet of Honda Africa Twins and CRF450Ls.
Beattie’s Zoom classes will take place every Tuesday at 7:30pm Brisbane time (take note of Daylight Savings changes for non-Queenslanders). The meetings will also utilise the chat function, meaning attendees can ask questions during the live presentation.
The first zoom class is scheduled for September 22 and will focus on navigation with Hema Maps and Garmin. Here is the full list of scheduled Zoom meetings:
