According to Ducati, what was once white is now black. The white version of the Ducati Diavel has been ditched in favour of a sinister all-black model after the Italian company received overwhelming feedback during the EICMA bike show in Milan.
Ducati issued a press statement that reads: "Unveiled by Ducati at the Milan International Motorcycle Show last month, the innovative new Ducati Diavel will now also roll out in a stunning diamond black colour scheme following huge interest from enthusiastic show visitors.
"Having grabbed global attention at the show, the Italian manufacturer collected instant feed-back from thousands of passionate motorcyclists viewing the bike for the first time and now respond immediately with an update to the Diavel colour options."
The Ducati Diavel power cruiser was originally offered in three colours - carbon red, which is bold red paint applied on top of a matte carbon weave matched to a red frame, traditional Ducati Red and a pearl white colour matched to a black frame.
That last colour, pearl white, has be ditched in favour of a new carbon black scheme, giving the Diavel a menacing new look, one that has been given the thumbs up by the Italian motorcycling fraternity.
Powered by a 162hp (119kW) 1198cc Testastretta 11° engine, the Ducati Diavel's liquid-cooled engine has three modes for changing riding conditions - Sport, Touring and Urban.
It will also be offered as standard in Australia with traction control and ABS, plus fully-adjustable 50mm Marzocchi upside-down forks and an adjustable, horizontal Sachs monoshock, not to mention Brembo brakes.
The recently announced carbon black colour scheme also adds black anodised side air intakes and headlight, and Ducati has confirmed that the new colour scheme is already rolling out of the factory and will available to Australian customers when it arrives here in March 2011. Pricing for the new model will start at $25,490 ride away.
