Daniel Riccardo has teamed up with Red Bull stablemates and Dakar Rally favourites Toby Price and Daniel Sanders for an exciting new film project ahead of the Australian Formula One Grand Prix in Melbourne.
Dubbed the Great Aussie Road Trip, the new video sees Ricciardo step into the cockpit of the championship-winning Red Bull RB7 F1 car for a tour of his home country.
Along the way, Ricciardo takes part in several Aussie-inspired challenges designed to test the abilities of the RB7 race car. The journey takes him from his home in Perth, through the outback, Sydney, and rural Queensland, ultimately ending up at the famed Mt Panorama circuit in Bathurst.
Dakar Rally stage winner Daniel ‘Chucky’ Sanders makes an appearance aboard his GasGas Factory rally bike, jumping over the RB7 as it passes through the desert.
Two-time Dakar winner Toby Price also shows up in his Finke-winning Red Bull trophy truck, while other special guests include Red Bull Air Race pilot Matt Hall, and Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen.
The star-studded video comes as Ricciardo makes his return to the Red Bull Racing team as a reserve driver. He was dropped from McLaren last year in favour of his compatriot, Oscar Piastri. The new role sees the eight-time GP winner spend less time on the track, but leaves him with more time to take part in other ventures and Red Bull marketing campaigns.
It is not the first time that Ricciardo has taken part in a Red Bull Road Trip video, with the Aussie star completing a similar campaign in the USA back in 2018.
The 2023 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix takes place this weekend, from March 30 to April 2.
