Daelim has weighed into the 250cc cruiser segment with its new Daelim Daystar, which now sits alongside the South Korean manufacturer’s only other road motorcycle, the VJF250 sportsbike.
According to Daelim’s press release, the Daystar’s “blacked-out and defiant styling creates a road presence not normally associated with a 250cc cruiser motorcycle”. While that’s open to conjecture it does sport plenty of black, offset by the chrome pipes, airbox cover, fuel filler, and trim.
A 247cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, DOHC, four-valve, single-cylinder engine feeds its power to a five-speed gearbox and is wrapped in a tubular steel cradle frame.
Daelim offers no power or torque figures for the Daystar.
A twin-disc front brake is complemented by a further disc down the back, but ABS is not available.
With its low 720mm seat height and 160kg dry weight the model is bound to attract some attention in the entry-level market, especially considering its low $4290 (plus on-roads) price tag.
Available in black only, the Daystar comes with a two-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.
