Australia's Jason Crump has revitalised his season, winning the most races out of anyone en route to a fourth place finish in round seven of the 2011 Speedway World Championship at Malilla in Sweden on August 13.
Crump was imperious in the preliminaries and was the only rider to go undefeated in his five heats, but then bowed out in the opening semi-final after finishing third behind Russian Emil Sayfutdinov and Jaroslaw Hampel.
Hampel then went onto win the finale from Andreas Jonsson after a sensational last turn swoop, with Kenneth Bjerre and Sayfutdinov third and fourth.
But Crump's strong work in the heats still saw him finish the night on 16pts, with only Hampel (17) and Jonsson (19) ahead of him.
Crump has now climbed to equal fourth in the world championship table alongside Jonsson and Sayfutdinov on 72pts, with American Greg Hancock (102) still the leader from Hampel (82) and reigning champion Tomasz Gollob (76).
Hancock was eliminated in the second semi-final in Sweden, while it was a forgettable night for Gollob who failed to win a race in finishing third last out of 16 riders.
Australia's Chris Holder didn't fare much better – one win from five rides -- and he's now slipped to seventh in the standings on 70pts.
Four rounds remain in the championship, with Poland the next stopover on August 27.
