There are less than two months to go the 2019 Sunraysia Safari, which will see a variety of two- and four-wheeled classes contest a challenging 1200-kilometre course through south-western New South Wales over September 11-14.
It's the third running of the outback epic, which has grown each year since 2017 and which seeks to breathe new life into the type of cross-country rallying made legendary by the gruelling Australasian Safari, which closed in 2014 after 29 years.

This year sees the Sunraysia Safari shift base from Mildura (Vic) to Wentworth (NSW), the town serving as a base for competitors and an overnight stop on each night of the four-day event.
According to Troy Bennett, managing director of Sunraysia Safari organiser and promoter, Rally Management Australia, preparations for this year's event are now in their final stages, with entries closing in three weeks.
"The stages this year are undoubtedly the best we've ever had, and honestly every section we set is better than the previous one," he said.
"I'm very proud of what we have to offer, and I'm certain competitors are going to enjoy every minute of the four days of competition we've put together."

Mr Bennet said this year's course would utilise all-new terrain, albeit with some new sections conducted on some of the event's favourite properties.
A total of seven bike classes are on offer: H1 (0-250cc); H2 (251-450cc); H3 (451-1000cc); quad bikes; 45 years and over; adventure bikes; and sidecars.
In the four-wheelers, there are six broad classes to choose from, with a variety of sub-classes within each. Main categories span Production 4WD, Modified Production 4WD, Modified Prototype 2WD/CAMS Performance 2WD/Off-Road Extreme 2WD, Buggies, Unlimited 4WD/CAMS Off-Road Extreme 4WD, and side-by-side vehicles.

Organisers says this year's Sunraysia Safari will hold a couple of new twists, including a Safari Show 'n' Shine in Wentworth on the Tuesday night immediately before the race (September 10), along with the potential of a spectator point on the final stage of the event on the following Saturday (September 14).
