Compo for chicken gone wrong

A landmark legal case in the UK has resulted in a GSX-R1000 rider being promised compensation for a crash caused by a pedestrian.

Anthony Young from Bristol and lawyer Andrew Campbell have convinced the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (a body set up to compensate victims of violent crimes) that the rider is entitled to a payout after suffering a punctured lung and several broken ribs in crash.

The incident was caused by a 12-year-old pedestrian, who ran out on the road in front of the bike as part of a game of 'chicken'. UK Motorcycle News speculates this will open the door to many more claims.
