This was my pick last year and it remains the same now – Australian TGB Scooters, Daelim and CFMoto importer, Mojo Motorcycles. Its footprint with these three brands is steadily increasing, and the manufacturers themselves are listening to local buyer feedback. It will be particularly interesting to see how CFMoto does next year with its Kawasaki ER-6 clone, the 650NK. Internationally, I’m giving the gong to Honda. The Japanese giant has really ramped up operations in its Thai production facility, and we’re now seeing a number of practical, fuel-efficient and value-packed models as a result. It began with the CBR250R, and now we have the NC700SA, the CRF250L and soon a brace of 500s – it’s still Honda quality but at incredibly attractive price points (something Honda has been missing in recent years).

Those based in China. They might be the market’s bottom-feeders at the moment but expect the style and quality to increase as they understand that bikes need to be more than just practical transport.
