Down Under: Paul Feeney Group. As the Australian importer for Husqvarna, it’s moving back into the road bike game in 2012 (it was previously the MV Agusta importer) with the Nuda 990s, and big things could be on the way.
International: Polaris. It’s bought up big in 2011, especially electric vehicle companies (but also a nod to the past with Indian), so it now has the wherewithal to start producing some innovative powertrains across all its product range.

Triumph (with an honourable mention to MV Agusta). The company has flourished in the past year where other larger, wealthier marques have suffered. It's building bikes that people want to ride. Viva la tripelle!

Down Under: Mojo Motorcycles. This importer/distributor of CF Moto, Daelim and TGB isn’t exactly working off a base of huge numbers, but it’s making excellent progress and recording strong sales with its brace of motorcycles, scooters and ATVs.
International: Indian. I don’t know when parent company Polaris is going to unveil a new line-up of Indian V-twins, but when it does I’ll be watching with keen interest. It’s made steady headway with its modern Victory cruisers in recent years, and with its deep pockets it will be interesting to see what it can do with Indian – a marque with a rich history to rival that of Harley.

Those which are involved in the 'greening' of motorcycling. Electric/hydrogen/cow poo -- whatever. Great for turning bikes into cheap, general transport for the masses. Just make sure they leave the bikes the way they are for the enthusiast!
