Colin Zarczynski's trials three-peat

Shows he's the boss once again

Master craftsman Colin Zarczynski has dominated the 2008 Australian Moto Trials Championship at Sedgwick (Vic), becoming just the third rider since 1965 to win three successive titles.

After sharing co-leadership with Neil Price after day one, Zarczynski held his nerve at the business end of proceedings, eventually finishing the event on 88pts, well clear of Jake Whitaker (101pts) and Kyle Middleton (109pts).

Price (114pts) faded on day two to finish in fourth position, ahead of Dylan Rees (123pts).

Zarczynski, a policeman, has now won four of the last five Aussie open titles, and was the leading local home in 2005 when an armada of internationals, led by Englishman Sean Morris, dominated the event.

The last time Zarczynski lowered his colours to a compatriot in the Aussie title was way back in 2003 when Kale Reed was champion.

This year, Zarczynski combined with his brother, Kevin, Middleton and Price as Australia finished third in the International Trophy (group B) division of the Trials des Nations, just behind second-placed Norway.
