The Classic TT has been cancelled for 2021, with the Isle of Man government citing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic as the primary reason.
With the event relying on a large number of marshals, medics, race officials and other volunteers (many who travel from outside the Isle of Man), organisers were not confident that COVID restrictions would allow the races to proceed.

Due to take place from August 22-30, the Classic TT joins its better-known counterpart, the Isle of Man TT, which was cancelled in December.
The small and secluded Isle of Man has largely kept coronavirus of its shores, and the local government is also worried about welcoming large numbers of spectators, competitors and officials.
It marks the second year in a row that COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of both the Isle of Man TT and the Classic TT.
Organisers will now turn their attention to 2022, with strong hopes that both events will run.
“Obviously this is yet another disappointing announcement for us to have to make,” said TT Business Development Manager, Paul Phillips. “But it was important that an early decision was made to give clarity to the thousands of visitors and individuals that come together for the Classic TT.
“A two year break from racing is not what anyone would have wanted, but our team is working hard to ensure both the TT and Classic TT return stronger than ever in 2022.”
More information on the 2022 Isle of Man TT and Classic TT is expected in the coming months.
