Seven classic motorcycles are set to go under the hammer in the Shannons Autumn Timed Online Auction, due to take place from May 20-June 3.
The virtual auction will see online bidders duke it out for a number of collectable bikes and cars, including a red, white and black 1960 Harley-Davidson FL Duo Glide.
After sitting in a Queensland shed for 37 years, the 1960 FL Duo Glide has been restored. The model replaced the Hydra Glide as the American touring bike of choice, and was a major innovation for Harley-Davidson. The bike is being offered in the auction with no reserve and is expected to fetch between $20,000 and $24,000.
Also on offer is a Velocette Sportsman 500cc solo, of which only 40 were made available to Australia. This particular example was purchased new in 1970 and received a mechanical overhaul in 1994. It is up for sale for the first time in its lifespan with just 2,983 miles on the odometer. The Sportsman is expected to sell for $18,000-$22,000.
There is a clear British theme in this auction with the Velocette joined by a 1961 Triumph T120R Bonneville 650cc solo, two pre-war BSA solos and a fully-restored 1974 Norton Commando 850 MkIIA, a model which many regard as one of the finest British twins of its era.
Japanese bike collectors are catered for, with a 1978 CT70 Mini Trial Bike being offered with no reserve, and an expected selling price of $3500-4500.
