CFMoto’s new Z1000 side-by-side

Out with the Z800 and in with the Z1000

CFMoto has introduced a new 1000cc V-twin side-by-side (SxS) to the Australian market called the Z1000.

Based on the firm’s smaller and now superseded Z800 offering, the 963cc liquid-cooled, eight-valve DOHC engine offers over 20 per cent more power at 80hp, as well as 82Nm of torque, to power the 610kg (dry) machine.

Boasting switchable two- and four-wheel drive, the Z1000 also offers electronic power steering and, unlike its predecessor, comes fitted with the winch, roof kit and half screen as standard. Safety wise, there’s a five-point harness, side-quarter doors and a ROPS-certified roll cage.

The Z1000 employs fully adjustable suspension double-A arm suspension at both ends as well as disc brakes on all four of its 14-inch wheels. It has a wheelbase of 2040mm, a towing capacity of 500kg and an on-board payload capacity of 260kg.

Priced at $15,990 drive away, the Z1000 comes with a 12-month warranty. CFMoto Australia’s Michael Poynton said the new engine was “only a matter of time” and described the vehicle’s retail price as “unbeatable”.

“CFMoto has delivered the ultimate fun machine that begs you to come out and play,” he said.
