With a brand-new factory and a host of new models, Chinese manufacturer CFMoto is going from strength to strength, with no signs of slowing down.
Now the company has announced that it is working on a civilian version of its CF1250J police bike that was unveiled in May. The 1278cc V-twin machine will soon be deployed across various law enforcement agencies in China.

The CF1250J engine produces 140hp and a 120Nm of torque, and is a heavily re-engineered version KTM’s LC8 powerplant, which is manufactured by CFMoto under licence.
The CF1250J also features a whopping 12.3-inch colour TFT dash. It is the largest CFMoto model in the company’s 30-year history and one of the most powerful motorcycle built by a Chinese manufacturer.
CFMoto partnered with KTM in 2013 to produce small-capacity KTM-badged motorcycles for China, which is one of the largest motorcycle markets in the world. That partnership is starting to pay off with increasing KTM and European influence creeping into CFMoto’s operations.
Recently announced new models include the CFMoto 300SR sports bike, which has arrived in Australia with a $5750 ride away price tag, and the all-new CFMoto 700CL-X range, which features the company’s first non-LAMS approved engine.
The company is also ready to cut the ribbon at its brand-new 150,000sqm manufacturing facility, which is capable of producing 50,000 large-capacity motorcycles per year. The new factory will join the recently-opened office and R&D centre in Hangzhou.
CFMoto Australia director, Michael Poynton is excited about the brands future. “CFMoto is a serious player in the ATV/UTV market, and we know big, bold moves are on the horizon for the company’s motorcycle division,” he said in a statement. “It’s quite the warning shot, and it’s just the beginning.”
The Chinese company was founded in 1989 and has been the top-selling ATV/UTV brand in Europe since 2018. However, two-wheel markets appear to be a major focus for the company going forward.
