Rapidly expanding export-orientated Chinese company CF Moto is developing 250 and 400cc nakedbikes, both of which will go on sale in Australia within two years.
Michael Poynton, the director of Mojo Motorcycles, which imports CFMoto into Australia, confirmed the future models at the Australian media launch of the 2014 model 650NK naked and 650TK sportstourer.
Like the 650NK and 650TK, the two smaller nakedbikes will be powered by a parallel twin engine, with styling similar to the sharp lines on the NK (pictured). That's about all we know at this stage, other than pricing is sure to be ultra-sharp. The 650NK currently retails for $5990 (plus on-road costs).
The new CFMoto nakeds will add to the increasingly busy sub-500cc LAMS space in Australia, with other companies like BMW and Triumph also preparing to get in on the act with their own machines over the next few years.
Poynton also confirmed that a CFMoto adventure bike will be released around November, 2014 using the same mill as found in the 650s -- a liquid-cooled, DOHC eight-valve parallel-twin with 180-degree crankshaft. In LAMS spec, CFMoto claims 58hp at 8500rpm, and 62Nm at 7000rpm. The full biscuit model produces 70hp.
