A 150cc CFMoto naked bike will be launched in Australia in January 2015, the local distributor for the rapidly expanding Chinese marque has announced.
The bike is called the 150NK, and is powered by a SOHC two-valve liquid-cooled engine which is good for 11.8hp (8.8kW) at 8500rpm and 10.6Nm at 7000rpm. The 150NK tracks on a tubular steel twin-spar frame, and the look has been crafted by the Austrian-based Kiska Design, which has been associated with European juggernaut KTM since 1992.
The 150NK is the work of Kiska stylist Bjorn Shuster, while CFMoto’s upcoming adventure bike will be in the hands of the company’s head honcho Gerald Kiska.
Most of the nakeds in the local LAMS space are 250cc and above, with the Honda CB125E, CFMoto’s own Leader 150 and the Kymco CK125 a few of the exceptions. The 150NK will now join them, and its other vital stats include a 142kg wet weight, 785mm seat height and 10-litre fuel tank.
There’s still no price on the 150NK, although we’d expect something in the 2K range. The 650NK currently retails for $6290 (plus on-road costs).
If the 150Nk and 650NK don’t hit the mark, then there’s always the 400NK, which will go on sale in October 2015. According to local CFMoto boss Michael Poynton, the 400NK is “a sleeved 650NK with styling in between the new 150NK and the current 650NK”. The engine will be a liquid-cooled, DOHC eight-valve parallel twin.
Poynton also told Bikesales that a CFMoto adventure bike will be released around November, 2015, a year later than originally scheduled. It will be called the 650AK.
