CFMOTO 800MT-X headed for Australia soon

CFMOTO is gearing up to launch its long-awaited dirt-ready 800MT-X adventure tourer

Boasting enhanced off-road capability, the all-new 2025 CFMOTO 800MT-X is headed for Australian shores very soon.

The bike – which shares its engine and chassis with the KTM 790 Adventure platform – will land Down Under with an introductory price of $14,990 ride away. That puts it on par with the 800MT Touring and $2k cheaper than the up-spec 800MT Explore.

But the 800MT-X is a very different bike to its siblings. For starters, it features a low-slung 22.5L fuel tank in the same style as KTM’s parallel-twin adventure machines.

Also new is the fully adjustable YU’AN fork and shock, which each offer 230mm of travel front and rear, and the 21- and 18-inch wheel combo with CST Ambro A4 rubber.

Braking is handled by J.Juan with dual 320mm front discs and a single 260mm rear disc, and the bike is also fitted with Bosch cornering optimised ABS.

Other tech includes a vertical 7-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, a 6-axis IMU with switchable ABS and traction control, cruise control a quickshifter, and a power-assist slipper clutch.

The 800MT-X is expected to hit dealer floors from late February. The special introductory price also includes 12 months of registration and a three-year warranty, but pricing will revert to $15,990 ride away from July 1.

CFMOTO is expected to launch the 800MT-X to media soon, so stay tuned for a review on bikesales.com.au.
