A leading Australian race team has been granted one of the ten exclusive licences for the inaugural season of the new FIM World Supercross Championship.
CDR Yamaha (aka Craig Dack Racing) will add even more Australian flavour to the new series, which is run by Australian promoters and will include an Australian round.
SX Global announced that CDR Yamaha and American team, Rick Ware Racing, would join the four previously-announced teams, leaving just four spots for the upcoming championship.

CDR Yamaha is the most successful team in Australian motocross and supercross history. Run by former Mr Motocross winner and multi-time Australian champion, Craig Dack, CDR Yamaha has been involved in countless motocross and supercross titles over the years.
The team, which operates out of Torquay in Victoria, set the benchmark for professionalism in Australian motocross. Dack has also achieved international recognition as a team manager, running the Yamaha of Troy outfit that led Chad Reed to the 2002 125cc AMA East Coast Supercross title.
Joining CDR will be Rick Ware Racing, headed up by former NASCAR drive Rick Ware. The team has plenty of motorsport experience and currently competes in NASCAR, IndyCar, and the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Series. Ware has also managed supercross teams in the past.
The new FIM World Supercross Championship is set to revolutionise the sport of supercross, with the exclusive team ownership structure allowing each team to increase its value over time, while also enabling unprecedented commercial opportunities on a global and regional level.
Other teams that have already been announced include MotoConcepts Honda, Bud Racing Kawasaki, GSM Yamaha, and Pipes Motorsports.
While an official calendar is yet to be revealed, the FIM World Supercross Championship is expected to kick off in late September, 2022.
