Honda has developed a CBR250R ‘Police Model Design’ aimed at law enforcement agencies across India, according to a report in indiancarsbikes.in.
And in a country where small capacity commuter bikes and scooter dominate the landscape, the police CBR250R doesn’t even require any mechanical changes – it’s already got enough mumbo with 26hp and 23Nm on tap. That’s far more than the Royal Enfield Bullet 350, which is the standard police patrol motorcycle in many parts of the country. There’s no escape route for criminals now!
With the engine remaining standard, enhancements are focussed on externals and other bolt-ons such as high efficiency LED lights, beacon lights, a siren with public address system, a collapsible pole lights for high visibility, and utility box. The rider also has a specially designed helmet fitted with a hands free microphone.
Police bikes are critical in India, based on the huge volumes of traffic which don’t make life easy for patrol cars to reach hotspots in a short period of time.
