CB650R and CBR650R price and availability

The new four-cylinder machines from Honda are on their way, and will be in Aussie showrooms in March

The 2019 CBR650R and CB650R will arrive in Honda dealerships in March 2019, priced at $10,299 and $9999 (plus on-road costs) respectively.

The ‘Neo Sport Café’ concept was first launched by Honda with the CB1000R and CB300R, and now the learner-approved CB650R joins the family, powered by the same 649cc inline four-cylinder engine as models it’s replacing – the CB650F.

However, the CBR650R gets 3hp boost in power to 93hp thanks to revised pistons and a higher compression ratio, and it also has 41mm Showa upside-down ‘Separate Function’ forks, radial brakes, traction control and an assist/slipper clutch.

The CB650R is available in Graphite Black and Candy Chromosphere Red.

Meanwhile, with a few small tweaks the 2018 CBR650F has morphed into the 2019 CBR650R allowing the Japanese firm to – on paper at least – bridge the gap left by the CBR600RR.

The CBR650R has dual LED headlights, the seat unit is more compact, and the steel diamond frame now has pressed rather than forged swingarm pivot plates.

The CBR650R is also learner-approved, and is available in Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic or Grand Prix Red.
