Anne Hathaway has scored the role of Catwoman in the next instalment of Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed Batman movie franchise, called The Dark Knight Rises, and though her costume isn't very catty, her choice of transport was enough to warrant a closer look.
Riding what appears to be the Bat-cycle, a futuristic crime-stopping all-terrain motorcycle with gigantic wheels presumably needed to instil fear in other road users, Anne Hathaway has proves that female movie stars can promote the two-wheeled cause.
However it should be mentioned that the rider, Hathaway's stunt double, managed to crash the high-tech motorcycle into one of the camera men on the set of the film, destroying an expensive iMax camera.
It should be noted that she was riding down steps at an odd angle and that working Bat-bike looks like a handful to control...
The Bat-bike appears to be an unusual design, with the rider resting most their body weight on a chunky tank pad and knee supports, in a canted forward position.
Add to that flat car-style wheels that look like they'd go around a corner about as keenly as a frozen loaf of bread and you're left with a motorcycle that is anything but practical.
Still, it does look pretty cool and could be the ride of choice for all self-respecting crime fighters in 2022.
