Casey Stoner to fly solo in 2010?
Grand prix entry lists releasedCasey Stoner to uphold Australian grand prix honour on his lonesome - that's how things are shaping up in 2010 following the release of the provisional entry lists for the 125 GP, Moto2 and MotoGP classes by the FIM.
Stoner will be one of 17 riders in the blue-chip MotoGP class this year, while Queenslander Anthony West is listed as a reserve in the embryonic Moto2 category, which is replacing the thoroughbred 250cc two-stroke bikes.
Currently, 38 riders are listed on the Moto2 roster, with one TBA. West is one of two reserves, and he will race an MZ if he does eventually make the jump onto the starting grid.
West was a long-time campaigner in 250 GP before he switched to MotoGP and world supersport, and won the 1993 Dutch TT with a stirring ride in the wet.
Meanwhile, there will be 27 125 GP riders in 2010, with the grid dominated by Aprilia and Derbi.
