The third edition of the Superprestigio Dirt Track event is set to take place in Barcelona on Saturday, December 12, with Marc Marquez and American flat track specialists Brad Baker and Jared Mees shaping as the standouts.
Baker and Marquez have won a Superprestigio each and are out for a second crown, while Mees looks for his first win in the popular event.
A multitude of world championship riders including Lorenzo Baldassarri, Alex Marquez, Xavi Vierge Alex Rins, Maria Herrera, Joan Mir, Ricky Cardus, Xavier Simeon, Marcel Schrotter, Mattia Pasini and Julian Simon will also be taking to the track and could present a surprise or two. Former Moto2 riders Nico Terol, Mika Kallio, Toni Elias and Jordi Torres will also be back in action with their former GP rivals.
The final will be made up of riders from the Superprestigio class, where all the Grand Prix and WorldSBK riders are classed, and the Open class, consisting of various flat track, supermoto and speedway riders. A number of heat races will whittle the field down to just eight riders in the Super Final, battling it out for overall honours.
No Aussies in action this year following the participation of Troy Bayliss and Remy Gardner in 2014.
