Can-Am has revealed more information about its upcoming electric motorcycle models, with the bikes expected to be on the road before the end of 2024.
First teased in August 2022, the new range will comprise of the Can-Am Origin adventure bike and the Can-Am Pulse naked bike.
While the Canadian ATV and UTV manufacturer is keeping exact specifications under wraps for the time being, photos and videos do reveal a few details.
The Can-Am Origin adventure model is complete with what looks to be a 21-inch front wheel and spoked rims, hinting at significant off-road ability. On the other hand, the Pulse model features smaller cast-alloy wheels and a neo-retro roadster/naked look.
Also visible is LED lighting, a sizeable TFT display, and the Rotax E-Power electric powerplant which will drive the new machines. Can-Am also confirms on its official website that the pair will feature Level 2 charging capabilities.
The new motorcycle range sees the Canadian ATV and UTV manufacturer return to its two-wheel roots, after starting as an off-road motorcycle subsidiary of Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) in 1972. The company produced enduro and motocross models until 1987, and managed to win multiple AMA championships and have success in the International Six Days Trial.
Today, Can-Am offers a range of on-road three-wheelers, including the Ryker and Spyder models, as well as a number of off-road four-wheel models including the Defender, the Commander, the Maverick X3, the Renegade youth ATV, and the Outlander 6x6 six-wheel ATV.
Can-Am had the new motorcycle range on display at its recent 50th anniversary celebrations, but further details are scarce. However, the brand’s local arm is hopeful that one or both of the electric bikes will make their way to Australia in late 2024 or early 2025.
