Camo cops target Vic Spurs

Readings may be open to dispute

Victoria Police have stooped to hiding in the bushes in camouflage clothing to nail speeding motorcyclists on Victoria's Reefton and Black Spurs.

The police say, in an interview with the Herald Sun newspaper (pictured) that normal enforcement techniques do not work on these roads.

However a Melbourne-based road safety consultant has told Bikepoint that anyone booked in these circumstances should investigate whether the speed-measuring equipment was used according to operater manuals. If not, the charges would be open to dispute.

Police say they have impounded several motorcycles as a result of the operation.
