The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, a fundraising charity ride that seeks to highlight men’s health issues, will be held this Sunday, September 29. A global event that is now staged each year in over 100 cities around the world, this year’s DGR will be held in five Australian locations, with events slated for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle and Perth.
At the time of writing some 602 Aussie riders had already signed up, raising a total of just under $130,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. The event was first held in 2012, when it was staged in some 64 countries. However, word has spread far and wide over the last year, particularly via social media, and 2013 has seen the event increase markedly in size.
The event is sponsored by Jack Daniel’s and it’s open to owners of café racers, bobbers, flat trackers, retro bikes and classic bikes.
