Opening in March, Café Moto is set to be the hottest new place for Melbourne’s motorcycle fraternity to meet.
On offer will be generous serves of food made from the highest-quality fresh and locally sourced ingredients, and of course, top-shelf Melbourne coffee. Inspired by the café racer movement, this back-to-basics and imaginative venue will offer the motorcycling, scooter and wider community something distinctly different.
Located at 611 Nepean Highway, Carrum, the beachside venue is an easy ride from Melbourne and the owners say it is more than just a café. It’s a destination and will be the new place for Melbournians looking for an outstanding place to meet at the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula, an area that has great riding roads on offer.
Café Moto has a vintage industrial-inspired fit-out, designed to the highest standards and managed by a professional team who have been involved in some of Melbourne's most iconic attractions.
Café Moto will also have some great collectable bikes on display and will stock some of the latest bike gear from Roland Sands Design, Bell helmets, Iron & Resin and Motorcycle Company Parma. With a mix of products from Australia, the West Coast of the USA and Italy, Café Moto will be bringing the latest retro and café racer gear to Melbourne.
Co-owner Peter Jones says: "Melbourne has been crying out for somewhere in the metro area for riders to meet up for a coffee or meal. Café Moto will provide somewhere they can feel welcome, talk bikes, read a mag, check out the bikes on display or just chill in the outside eating area.
"We are unique in also having bike gear available for sale as part of our offering, though you won’t find spark plugs or filters here, just retro-styled café racer clothing, helmets, magazines and accessories. Being based on the bay, the Iron & Resin gear is a particularly good fit for us, blending the West Coast bike & beach culture in a great range of clothing and accessories."
For those not in Melbourne, Café Moto has a slick online retail operation so gear can be shipped throughout the country at the click of a button.
