
When Harley-Davidson confirmed the closure of Buell motorcycles not more than a handful of months ago, there was much soul searching for founder Erik Buell.
But a ray of light has shone through the gloom, in the form of the Erik Beull Racing (EBR), an offshoot of the manufacturer that is the last remaining vestige of the once-proud company.
Indeed, EBR has just released an image and specifications of its new race bike, the 1190RR, powered by a new 72-degree V-twin displacing 1190cc and cranking out 136kW at the rear wheel. That's 185 rear wheel ponies in the old money, and combined with a weight of 163kg (wet, but with no fuel) it should go fairly rapidly.
On top of the Rotax-built 1190cc twin-cylinder engine, the chassis is about as adjustable as you can get, and the light weight magnesium rims are shod with super sticky Pirelli Diablo Corsa III.
