Hollywood and motorcycles have a long and storied relationship, and a new biopic about Bruce Springsteen is the latest chapter.
Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is now playing in cinemas and takes viewers inside the mind of The Boss as he writes his iconic and haunted acoustic folk album Nebraska.
Those expecting a sweeping and glitzy rags to riches tale filled with high energy concert scenes and musings on the trappings of fame will be disappointed, as Deliver Me From Nowhere is more of an introspective vignette of a specific period in Springsteen’s acclaimed and extensive career.

Written and directed by Scott Cooper, and starring Jeremy Allen White as the title character, the new film will no doubt please hardcore Springsteen fans, but it also contains a few Easter eggs for motorcyclists.
The film features a 1971 Triumph TR6C that Springsteen is having rebuilt by close friend and mechanic Matt Delia (played by Australian Harrison Sloan Gilbertson). While we never see The Boss riding the bike, he routinely checks in to see if it is finished.
Adding to the two wheel connection is the fact that Allen White wears a vintage Triumph T-shirt during multiple scenes in the film.

So, does The Boss actually ride motorcycles? For many musicians, actors and writers who rose to prominence in the twentieth century, motorcycles were a natural escape from the chaos of fame. It appears it was the same for Springsteen.
Details on his riding history are limited, but the Asbury Park native has been photographed on Harley Davidsons and Triumphs, among other models, including a circa seventies snapshot of him sitting on a Triumph TR6 Tiger.
Perhaps the most famous yarn about The Boss and two wheels came in 2016. The Born to Run hitmaker was riding a Moto Guzzi in his home state of New Jersey when it broke down.

Luckily, a group of local riders from the Freehold American Legion were on a post Veterans Day ride and spotted Bruce on the side of the road. They had no luck getting the bike running again, so they gave The Boss a dink to a local bar and kept him company until someone arrived to give him a lift home.
The Guardian later reported that fellow music superstar and bike enthusiast Billy Joel had built the Guzzi and claimed responsibility for the breakdown.
The Boss was reportedly not too fussed about the incident.
