American Husqvarna rider Mike Brown is the 2015 Insure My Ride Australian Enduro-X champion, after continuing his domination in the third and final round at Melbourne's Calder Park on Saturday, March 14.
Just days after arriving back in Australia after competing in the American enduro-x opener in Daytona, Brown won all three pro finals at Calder Park to finish the outing ahead of local stars Toby Price (2-2-2) and Yamaha's Josh Green (2-3-3).
Brown defeated Green by a whisker in the first final before the American upped his pace in the next two to defeat Price by seven seconds both times.
Brown completed the championship on 222pts, from Green (180), Dakar Rally hero Price (173), Tye Simmonds (KTM, 141) and Daniel Saunders (KTM, 133).
Green was delighted to be the first local home in the championship behind Brown.
“It’s been our goal from round one to stay consistent and not wipe myself out with a crash or a bad race so it is rewarding to achieve that and get on the podium for Yamaha and the entire Active8 team," said Green. “Congratulations to Mike Brown who rode extremely well all series and deserved his win. He was a bit above us all this year but it was still important for me to be the highest placed Australian rider and get through the championship in good health.
“We now have a quick turn around with the AORC (Australian Off-Road Championship) starting next week and I feel like myself and the team are well placed and look forward to getting back out in the bush."
