Brock tribute at MotoGP

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation has announced that an appropriate tribute to the legendry Peter Brock will be made at this weekend's Australian MotoGP, following his shock death last week

The tribute will take place on Sunday at the Phillip Island Circuit, with further specific details to be released soon.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events, John Pandazopoulos explained that the MotoGP would be a fitting time to remember a true Australian icon.

"Peter Brock was a true sporting legend," Pandazopoulos told the Australian Grand Prix Corporation. "He had thousands of fans across the country and especially in Victoria and he deserves a fitting tribute."

Australian Grand Prix Corporation Chairman, Ron Walker echoed the same sentiments and added that Brock's contribution to the motor sport industry should not go unrecognised.

"Peter was a dear friend and a fantastic legend of motor sport," Walker said.

"He was a highly valued member of the Board of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and made a great contribution over the years to the organisation of the Australian Motorcycle Grands Prix and as such it is right and fitting for us to make a tribute to his wonderful life at this event."
