Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has renewed the contract with reigning world trials champion Toni Bou for a further four years. The deal extends the collaboration between the two parties (which first began in 2007) until 2018.
Since Bou first arrived in the Montesa-HRC team back in 2007, he’s enjoyed unrivalled success. The young Spanish rider has picked up an incredible seven consecutive trial world titles – a record he shares with Briton Dougie Lampkin.
So far in 2014, Bou has claimed two world title victories and leads the standings by one point ahead of Spanish compatriot Adam Raga.
“I’m really pleased. We started to discuss the renewal and came to an agreement right away, so much so that we agreed to lengthen the contract by four years,” said Bou. “The team and the bike work really well together. There is nothing else better. So, the only thing that I can do is to continue to battle for the team and for more success, because I really want to win for them and for the fans.”
