Bookings open for 2016 BMW TS Safari

Byron to the Blue Mountains is the theme of the next big road trip

Bookings have just opened for the 2016 BMW TS Safari, which will roll out of the Tweed Coast on March 13 and make its way to the magnificent Blue Mountains on March 18.

The BMW TS Safari is five days of tarmac-oriented riding through some of the most magnificent roads in Australia. From the coastal start, the BMW TS Safari will traverse The Great Dividing Range through stunning forests and rolling farmland with the opportunity to stop and explore many scenic towns along the way. The traditional closing dinner on the final day will be held at an historic location, which will be revealed at a later date.

For the first time, participants will be able to 'bring a buddy' who rides another brand of bike. This provides an opportunity for regular ride groups to share the experience of the BMW TS Safari.

Additionally the TS Safari will now offer optional luggage support for participants. This option is aimed primarily for riders of machines with limited luggage capacity, like the S 1000 RR, or those traveling two-up and who would appreciate a little weight reduction.

BMW Motorrad Australia Marketing Manager, Miles Davis, said he is looking forward to the 2016 TS Safari: "The BMW TS Safari is a fantastic event and gives the opportunity for all BMW riders to enjoy magnificent riding in the company of pillions and other BMW riders," he said.

"To experience the TS Safari with friends or make new friends along the journey is one of the joys of riding. I would encourage customers to register as soon as possible as places are limited," said Davis.

The BMW Safari is one of the world's longest-running and most successful BMW Motorrad events. First held in 1994, the Safari has continued to grow in popularity amongst BMW riders. In 2005, the Safari was split into separate events – the GS (Gelande Strasse/off road) and TS (Touren Sport/on road) – to offer ideal roads to be explored and enjoyed by different riders on different styles of bikes.
