BMW Motorrad has unveiled a new range of K-series models at INTERMOT in Cologne - the K 1300 S, K 1300 R and K 1300 GT.
Following is a brief summary of the trio, which will be available in Australia late in the first quarter of 2009 as replacements for the current 1200cc range of K-series bikes:
K 1300 S
Engine output 129kW (175 hp) at 9250rpm, and 140Nm at 8250rpm
Increase in torque by more than 10Nm from 2000-8000rpm
Integral ABS (partially integrated) standard
Maintenance-free shaft drive with a new, two-stage drive shaft
Duolever front suspension with new lower longitudinal arm
Firmer spring/damper set-up for even better feedback
Electronically adjustable second-generation ESA II suspension and ASC (Auto Stability Control) traction control as an option
HP Gearshift Assistant for shifting up without power interruption available as an option
Electronic immobiliser standard
Colours are Light Grey Metallic and Lava Orange Metallic with a multi-colour finish in Granite Grey Metallic/Light Grey Metallic
K 1300 R
Engine output 127kW (173hp) at 9250rpm, and 140Nm at 8250rpm
Increase in torque by more than 10Nm from 2000-8000rpm
Newly tuned Digital Motor Electronics to fulfill the highest environmental standards
Optimised charge process for greater performance and lower fuel consumption
Optimised exhaust system with a new rear-end muffler and electronic flap control, as well as a fully controlled three-way catalytic converter
Firmer spring/damper set-up for even better feedback to the rider
Second-generation ESA II electronically adjustable suspension and ASC (Auto Stability Control) traction control as an option
Maintenance-free shaft drive with a new two-stage drive shaft
Wide range of standard features and accessories
Colours are Silk Metallic, Lava Orange Metallic and Light Grey Metallic
K 1300 GT
Engine output 118kW (160hp) at 9000 rpm, and 135Nm at 8000rpm
Significant increase in torque from 3500rpm
Optimisation of the emission system through rear mufflers modified inside and a fully-controlled three-way catalytic converter
Maintenance-free shaft drive with a new, two-stage drive shaft
Duolever front-wheel suspension complete with a newly designed lower longitudinal arm
Second-generation ESA II Electronically Adjustable Suspension and ASC (Auto Stability Control) traction control as an option
New generation of switches and controls with optimized ergonomics
Semi integral ABS (partially integrated) standard
Wide range of equipment and accessories
Seat and handlebar adjustment
Electrically adjustable windshield
Colours are Red Apple Metallic with dark contrast trim, Royal Blue Metallic with White Aluminium contrast. and Magnesium Beige Metallic highlighted with Dark Slate Metallic
