BMW teams up with Lego to create hover bike

New concept reimagines the motorcycle, but sadly it doesn't actually hover

BMW and Lego Technic have teamed up to reimagine the motorcycle.

The collaboration saw the Danish toymaker’s designers re-create a BMW 1200 GS Adventure bike using just Lego bricks. The result was the Hover Ride Design Concept. BMW then took the scale model and built a life-size model of the Lego design out of real 1200 GS parts.

Sadly, for those looking for the ultimate traffic-busting commuter tool, the rear wheel improvised propeller is not thought to offer anywhere near enough lift for the Hover Ride to be a viable flying machine.

Now on display at Lego World in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Hover Ride will soon embark on a tour of BMW design facilities.
