BMW releases Megamoto

Pikes winner costs $28k-plus

BMW has just released its long-awaited Megamoto locally – it's the company's uber-supermotard, running a 113hp 1200cc engine.

The wild machine claimed victory in its class at the famous Pikes Peak hill-climb last July, and was first displayed at the INTERMOT show in 2006.

It joins the HP2 Enduro off-roader in the company's exclusive hero bike line-up, but has a little more power than its predecessor.

"The new BMW HP2 Megamoto represents the pinnacle of performance Boxer engines," said Cameron Cuthill, General Manager of BMW Motorrad.

You'll need to have the wallet well-primed to own one -- pricing is set at $28,400 plus ORC.
