BMW has added two new boxer-powered variants to its R 1300 range, with the touring-focused R 1300 RT and R 1300 RS set to land in the third quarter of 2025.
The new pair of sporty tourers replace the R 1250 equivalents that preceded them and take full advantage of the new 1300 engine platform.
Both bikes extract 107kW (145hp) at 7750rpm and 149Nm at 6500rpm from the 2-cylinder boxer-twin – the same engine featured in the R 1300 GS, R 1300 GS Adventure, and R 1300 R models.
The RT is the more premium of the new pair, featuring electronic suspension as standard, as well as the option for the new Dynamic Chassis Adaption, which offers two electronically selectable ride positions.
Automatic shift is also an option for the RT, allowing for completely automatic shifting, or clutch less manual shifting. The RT also has side luggage, extra wind and weather protection, and a bigger TFT display as standard.
Both bikes feature a new full LED headlight as standard, as well as new wheels that save approximately 1.4kg. Both bikes are also compatible with radar-driven safety features.
Pricing for the RT starts at $39,990 excluding on-road costs, while the base RS starts from just $23,090 excluding on-road costs.
