BMW Motorrad has unveiled "a breathtaking concept study" on the shores of Lake Como — a K1600GT-powered bagger called 'Concept 101'.
Designed in concert with Roland Sands Design (RSD), Concept 101 has a drop-shaped silhouette that is typical of baggers, reaching the highest point at the front trim. Other nice touches include brushed aluminium, carbon fibre accents, the integrated headlights, leather contrasts, wood inserts and the funky LED bands on the tail, "reminiscent of former road cruisers". And the two side panels "encase the front trim like a suit of armour". The colours and lines have also been carefully chosen.
Power is thanks to the 1649cc six-cylinder engine found in the K1600GT series, which begs the question: will a bagger version of the K 1600 look like Concept 101. Wouldn't be such a bad thing, albeit with a much lower level of opulence.
BMW Motorrad and RSD have been working successfully for a number of years, with past projects including the well-received Concept Ninety. On Concept 101, RSD designed a number of the parts, including the clutch cover, timing chain cover and the wheels.
