BMW has fired its latest salvo in the world of online viral marketing, a YouTube video of an on-track clash between two of the automotive giant's sporting flagships - its M3 sportscar and S 1000 RR superbike.
Titled The Chase - BMW RR vs. BMW M3, the three-minute clip was uploaded to YouTube on May 2, and had already racked up over 95,000 viewings just two days later.
The clip portrays two friends, RR rider Rico and M3 driver Nico (no, we're not kidding), who decide once and for all to settle the score of who is fastest. The pair then take the argument and their preferred (and performance tuned) vehicles to the track, where they set out from equidistant points and attempt to chase the other down.
While the plot isn't exactly complex, the video is shot with the level of professionalism you'd expect of a corporate heavyweight like BMW, and will undoutedly do its bit for portraying both models in a favourable light across the online world.
So who wins? Check it out for yourself!
