Did you miss the boat on ordering BMW’s mega-buck and ultra-exclusive superbike, the BMW M 1000 RR? You’re not alone – especially when you factor in the limited production run, and the hordes of riders for whom the $54,105 ride away price tag is just a tad beyond the available budget...
But fear not, because LEGO has delivered a BMW M 1000 RR of its own to satisfy actual owners and dreamers alike: the BMW M 1000 RR Lego Technic set.

Priced at $319.99, it’s a darn sight more affordable than the real thing and there are no on-going service or running costs. On top of that, you even get the personal satisfaction of having built the thing yourself. And with a total of 1920 parts, it’s not a job you’re going to knock over in 10 minutes, either!
The 1:5 scale model measures 45.5cm long and is sure to put a smile on any BMW sportsbike enthusiast’s face. Functional components include a working gearbox (with three gears plus neutral), an inverted front fork, and a rear swingarm with suspension, while builders have a choice of three dash displays and the bike has a gold-coloured final drive chain.
The kit also comes with a paddock stand and a pit board.
“When the management of BMW Motorrad announced the first M model on two wheels, the BMW M 1000 RR, everyone knew that it would be something special,” said Ralf Rodepeter, Head of Marketing and Product Management at BMW Motorrad.
“In the same way, the LEGO Technic team realised they needed to come up with something unprecedented to pay tribute to the M RR. The result is a motorcycle and a technical model that each represent the state of the art in their respective fields.”
The BMW M 1000 RR LEGO Technic set is available now through official LEGO stores. Previous LEGO Technic motorcycle models have included a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy and a Ducati Panigale V4 R.
