The LAMS-approved BMW G 310 GS and G 310 R have been updated for 2021 with better throttle response, new styling, and improved ergonomics.
The pair of 313cc single-cylinder machines now feature an electronic throttle grip which delivers sharper throttle response. There is also an automatic idle speed increase when starting, which prevents sudden stalling of the engine – perfect for beginners.
Also new is the self-boosting anti-hopping clutch which reduces engine drag torque and provides a significant increase in riding safety, particularly through braking manoeuvres involving simultaneous downshifting. It also offers reduced operating forces at the clutch lever.
Additionally, the G 310 R now features a full-LED headlight and LED flashing turn indicators. The light features three light functions – high beam, low beam, and daytime riding light.
Elsewhere, the clutch and front brake lever are now adjustable in four stages, and styling updates have been added with inspiration from the S 1000 R. There are also three new colour schcmes.
The G 310 R starts at $6960 plus on-road costs, while the G 310 GS checks in at $7345. The basic Polar White colour scheme is free, but the Kynanite Blue Metallic and Cosmic Black (40 Years of GS) add $125 to the price tag.
