The all-electric BMW CE 04 scooter will arrive in Australia early next year after the Munich firm unveiled the final production model overnight.
First show in 2017 as the BMW Motorrad Concept Link, and then again in 2020 as the near-production Definition CE 04, the new BMW CE 04 opens a new path for BMW in electric two-wheel urban mobility.

Six reasons why we should embrace electric motorcycles
With a starting price tag of $20,350 (plus ORC), the futuristic-looking scooter will be powered by a 31kW (42hp) electric motor and an 8.9kWh battery with an estimated range of 131km.
The innovative permanent magnet electric motor features liquid cooling and is mounted in the frame between the battery and the rear wheel.
Meanwhile, the air-cooled lithium-ion high voltage battery can be charged either by plugging the integrated charging device into a regular household socket, or via a wall box or public charging station. A full charge takes about four hours and 20 minutes, but an optional quick charger reduces the charging time to just one hour and 40 minutes.
The new scoot also features automatic stability control (ASC), three ride modes, BMW’s ABS Pro system, powerful LED lighting, and a 10.25-inch colour TFT screen with integrated map navigation and advanced connectivity. The scooter also features plenty of convenient storage compartments, including a ventilated mobile phone charging compartment with USB-C charging port.
Other standard features include heated grips, heated seat, tyre pressure control, a centre stand, and the Light White paint scheme. There are also plenty of options available including a high windshield, anti-theft alarm system, and the aforementioned 30A quick charger.
Would-be owners can also pay a little extra for the BMW CE 04 Avantgarde ($20,690 ride away) variant which adds the high windshield as standard, and a Magellan Grey Metallic paint scheme.
The new BMW CE 04 is expected to arrive on Australian shores in the first quarter of 2022.
