BMW announces 2016 RR Experience
Sydney and Phillip Island bookings open tomorrow. Watch the video belowBMW Motorrad has announced the 2016 RR Experience – a two-part event offering test rides on the S 1000 RR and other BMW models, as well as Track Day sessions for customers on their own motorcycles.
BMW Motorrad Australia general manager, Andreas Lundgren, said he's excited to kick-start another year of the BMW RR Experience: "The BMW S 1000 RR is an amazing motorcycle. It is a fantastic opportunity for riders to experience its capabilities as well as other models, in a track environment.
"Places are limited so those interested should book their ride as soon as bookings open," said Lundgren.
RR Experience Test Rides
During the RR Experience, riders have the chance to experience the S 1000 RR and other models within the BMW range in a closed circuit environment.
Output of the RR is a genuine 199hp while max torque is 130Nm. Weight is 204kg fully fuelled and the incredible quick-shift pro system offers clutchless up and down shifts.
Along with the S 1000 RR, riders will also have the opportunity to ride the S 1000 R, S 1000 XR, K 1300 S, R 1200 GS and R 1200 RS.
RR Experience staff will lead each session, while VIP guests including Cameron Donald will circulate with customers to provide a very unique experience.
The RR Experience test ride is priced at $89 ($59 in Qld) for one 15 minute session. This also includes product demonstrations, VIP guest appearances, an event T-shirt and light refreshments.
RR Experience Track Days
BMW and other motorcycle brand riders can enjoy their bikes in a controlled track day environment, with the benefit of the experience and expertise of professional BMW riding instructors.
There are two groups to choose from:
>> Level 1, for first time track riders and less experienced riders
>> Level 2, for more confident riders who may have completed a track day before.
Places are limited with only 35 spots in each group.
The RR Experience is ideal for first time track riders as the structure is unique compared to other ride days. The RR Experience team will circulate on track during each session, observing and providing assistance.
Priced at $245 for four 15 minute sessions ($195 in Qld), riders have the opportunity to take their own registered bike around the track for three sessions, with the added bonus of the final session being on a BMW RR or similar BMW model. In addition, riders will be provided with a garage space, product demonstrations, an event T-shirt and light refreshments throughout the day.
RR Experience Schedule:
March 8 and 9 – Sydney Motorsport Park. Bookings open Friday January 22 at 5.00pm.
March 16 – Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Bookings open Friday January 22 at 5.00pm.
May 26 – Queensland Raceway. Bookings open Saturday March 31. Note: QLD cost only Test Ride $59, Track Day $195.
